Coronavirus Information

A message to our customers about coronavirus (COVID-19) and bank operations:

As the world watches the spread of coronavirus, the management and staff of Peoples Bank want to assure you that we are truly committed to providing you the very best customer experience possible during these unsettled times.

We are continuing to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus in our local area, and the communities we serve throughout east Tennessee and Georgia, as well as the entire country. 

To ensure that we can continue to provide excellent service for your financial needs, and in the interest of the health, safety, and well-being of you and our staff, we have implemented the following changes in our normal business operations:  Lobby access for walk-in traffic is suspended effective Monday, March 23, 2020.  This policy will be followed until further notice.  All Drive–Thru services will remain open and operational on a normal schedule. Our staff will be available at each office to answer questions by phone during our usual business hours.  Peoples Bank remains a strong resource for the communities we serve and we are prepared to handle the needs of our customers. We encourage everyone to take advantage of our online and mobile banking tools as well as our telephone banking systems where you have 24/7 Access to Online Banking services, Mobile Banking services, Bill Pay, Pay Someone for Funds Transfer and mobile phone deposit of your checks.

If you haven’t already, you can enroll in any of these services at Our ATMs located at the branches will remain available for your cash needs, 24 hours a day/7 days a week.  You can also access our Telephone Banking by calling 423-442-9222 or toll free at 1-877-442-9223. We are asking customers who may need to conduct other certain types of business such as safe deposit box access, loan applications and other matters that require a visit to the bank, to schedule an office appointment.

Customers facing financial hardships as a result of COVID-19 are encouraged to contact their loan officer to discuss their situation so we can help.

The decision to restrict access to our lobbies has not been made lightly, however Peoples Bank is intent upon continuing to offer our customers and communities our very best service while we simultaneously distance our staff and customers from the fast-spreading Coronavirus.  We have enhanced cleaning and sanitary practices to mitigate the spread of the virus, placed staff travel restrictions, and are asking the majority of our non-customer-facing bank employees to distance themselves from one another in keeping with guidance from state and federal authorities. We encourage our customers when possible to utilize your Peoples Bank debit and credit cards for point of sale transactions. We also recommend disinfecting your cards and your cell phones and mobile devices with disinfectant wipes. We encourage all customers to take all precautions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and your Federal, State, and local officials.  A link to these are posted on our website. We will remain vigilant and we value your relationship with our bank.

We want to assure you that Peoples Bank is here to assist you in every way that we can.  Customers who experience financial difficulty or hardship due to the effects of the Coronavirus will be given the opportunity to defer or skip payments to ease the burden in these uncertain times.  Anyone who is impacted should reach out to their loan officer or branch manager, who are ready to assist.  Together, we will get through this by taking care of each other and our neighbors.  As Mr. Rogers said, “Always look for the helpers because if you look for the helpers, you’ll know there’s hope.”  At Peoples Bank, we always want to be one of the helpers by doing what’s best for our community.

Online Bill Pay

Online Bill Pay allows you to schedule one-time, future or recurring bill payments from your checking account at Peoples Bank of East Tennessee with no monthly service fee. Online Bill Pay is subject to approval and includes up to 15 bill payments per month. Bill payments in excess of 15 are .60¢ each. Online Bill Pay will be converted to Basic Service if no bill payment activity for 60 days. Regular monthly checking account service charges will apply.

Telephone Banking

We offer 24-hour telephone banking. Simply dial (423) 442-9222 or toll free 1 (877) 442-9223 and follow the prompts. Please see a New Accounts Representative for more details.

ATM/Debit Cards

With our checking accounts, you can have the convenience of 24-hour banking with either our ATM or Debit card.  Our ATMs work with most major service providers nationwide and ATM machines are located at all branch locations. Our Debit Card gives you the safety of check writing with the convenience of a credit card and is accepted at most major providers where the MasterCard logo is displayed.
